Best Practices

When to Apply Your Patch

  • Right after placing a new sensor on your skin.
  • When an older sensor starts to loosen and you want to extend its use for a few extra days.

Skin Prep & Application

  • Make sure your skin and sensor area are completely clean and dry.
  • Avoid lotions, creams, or oils before applying.
  • For better adhesion, remove or trim any hair from the area.
  • Never apply over damaged skin such as cuts, burns, rashes, or irritation.
  • For a stronger hold, we suggest prepping the skin with an adhesive wipe (like Skin Tac).

Wearing Dexstyles

  • After swimming or showering, gently pat the patch dry with a towel.
  • Do not use a blow dryer, as heat can weaken the adhesive.
  • Try to keep clothes from rubbing the edges of the patch, as this can cause it to peel sooner.
  • If the patch begins to lift or fray, trim the loose edges with scissors to keep it in place longer.
